The duo embraced the vision of Wydad PEI and decided not only to join our team, but also to contribute to pitching other individuals via their network in #UPEI. There, amid the hum of daily conversations, I spotted two individuals whose athletic demeanour hinted at a potential for football. My quest then led me to the kitchen at the Atlantic Technology Center in Charlottetown. One doesn’t simply approach strangers and request $100 to play soccer, right? From the hallways of our office emerged the first quartet, four colleagues who not only shared my enthusiasm for the games but also backed it up by contributing $$ each to register the team with SoccerPEI, not only to book a spot for the fall season but to have the WAC team listed in their website to establish some credibility and trust before venturing further. ![]() With zero local connections, where does one even start? The mission was daunting on paper: gather 15 dedicated players who'd rally under the banner of WAC PEI. Challenge accepted! With my colleagues' support, WAC PEI was born, set for PEI's Division 3. My first instinct? Head to #SoccerPEI to immerse myself in the local football landscape.įrom my findings, you either join an existing team or create a new one. ![]() Upon arriving in #PEI, #Canada □, where football historically hasn't held center stage (though this is rapidly evolving - shoutout to Team Canada's recent World Cup appearances! □□), I longed to keep my tradition alive. Weekly matches weren’t just a routine they were an emblem of my Moroccan heritage □□. Growing up in #Casablanca □, football was more than just a game-it was the rhythm of every heartbeat □. □ Two weeks after landing on the pristine shores of Prince Edward Island, I teamed up with a group of driven colleagues to build a team - introducing WAC PEI Football (Soccer) Club! □⚽️
